CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Sept. 24, 2021) – Falfurrias Capital Partners, a Charlotte-based private equity firm focused on growth-oriented middle-market companies, today announced the promotions of Nick Bueno and Matt Kilian to Managing Director.
Bueno will serve in the role of Managing Director/Head of Strategy & Market Insights, overseeing a team that works to develop and substantiate Falfurrias’ proprietary investment theses, support market and commercial diligence on its investments, and work alongside the management teams of newly joined portfolio companies to develop growth strategies and other value creation opportunities.
In 2019 Bueno joined Falfurrias from McKinsey & Co., where he focused on operational excellence, growth and go-to-market strategy and was a member of the Marketing & Sales and Digital practices advising clients across a range of industries including Tech, Media & Telecom, Industrials, Manufacturing, Food & Beverage, Financial Services and Professional Services. He has a law degree from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Florida.
Kilian will be Managing Director/Chief Compliance Officer for Falfurrias, focusing on risk assessment through the deal execution process, transaction integration and ongoing monitoring of portfolio company performance. He joined the firm in 2014 from the Financial Services Assurance practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where his teams primarily served the Asset Management industry with clients ranging from offshore hedge funds to multinational registered investment companies.
Prior to PwC, Kilian worked in assurance services and transaction advisory at Reznick Group. He has a master’s in accountancy from Wake Forest University and a bachelor’s in business administration from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
